When residents throughout the city were without power this week, Richardson police officers were out in the community performing welfare checks at residences as well as at warming stations.
The officers worked to ensure that people who were in need were able to connect with agencies that had resources to help.
Additionally, the lobby at the police headquarters building just north of downtown is serving as a warming center and remains open 24 hours per day until it is no longer needed.
