The City of Richardson is putting a call out to all photographers interested in participating in the Annual Photo Contest, Jan. 11-26.

The competition is open to residents and non-residents alike. There are 13 different categories including abstract, architecture and people. There’s also categories for pets, sports and wildlife.

“I personally, have gotten a lot out of photo contests over time because its not about winning, its just sort of about seeing how your pictures are received, how you can learn and how you can make them better. Its been really good for me, and I hope others will participate in it as well,” said photographer, Jim Hamel.

Richardson’s Featured Artist this year is Jim Hamel who’s work is on display at Huffhines Recreation Center for the next several weeks.

Entry forms are available for pick up at Huffhines or by visiting www.cor.net/photocontest.
