Today, the Richardson Fire Department made a special delivery to families at the Network of Community Ministries during its Annual Toy and Food Drive.

“We are public servants and this is just another way we can give back to our community,” said Fire Marshal Wesley Caskey with the Richardson Fire Department.

Many unwrapped toys and several canned goods were dropped off after items were collected over the last few weeks at Richardson Fire Stations, the City Service Center and Richardson City Hall/Civic Center.

The donated items will help make this holiday a joyous one for the families registered with the Network.

“This year, we are expanding and including the victims from the Oct. 20 tornadoes to be able to provide them a great Christmas,” said Cindy Shafer, CEO of the Network of Community Ministries.
