After tomorrow, people seeking assistance filling out forms to apply for disaster recovery assistance will be able to visit the Richardson Public Library during normal business hours. Earlier this week, the City opened a Disaster Recovery Center at the Richardson Civic Center and Library to help people seeking aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Assistance from FEMA may include financial aid for home repairs and temporary lodging, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help residents and business owners recover. The SBA is providing assistance to business owners through a Virtual Business Recovery Center and has established a Virtual Disaster Loan Outreach Center to help homeowners and renters.
Hours of operation for Richardson’s Disaster Recovery Center are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (Civic Center) and 3 p.m.-6 p.m. (Library) through Saturday, Feb. 27. Both are located at 411 W. Arapaho Rd., just west of US 75. The Civic Center location for assistance will close after tomorrow but help with filling out forms and connecting with local agencies will continue at the Richardson Public Library daily during normal business hours.
