Hundreds of area employees recently gathered at the Galatyn Plaza in Richardson for the opportunity of networking and having fun as they prepare for some friendly competition.

The 22nd annual Richardson Corporate Challenge is an Olympic-style competition involving various athletic and non-athletic events.  The Challenge runs for 10 weeks and helps promote and support teamwork, company pride and corporate wellness while having a local economic impact.

“All the employees participating in the Challenge come to our City and spend, they eat at our restaurants while getting involved in everything from soccer, basketball and volleyball to cornhole, bowling and darts,” said Hannah Meek, corporate recreation manager.

The Corporate Challenge helps fund Special Olympics Texas. Since 1998, its raised more than $2.2 million, which provides continual support to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
