People interested in the performing arts in Richardson are getting a chance to shine. Aspiring actors and actresses are participating in the Repertory Company Theatre’s Annual Open Call Auditions. It’s become a tradition, helping directors cast performers in this season’s upcoming shows.

The auditions attract close to a hundred performers. They come from all over the Metroplex. There are singers, dancers, and those eager to show off their acting chops for a chance a starring role.

RCT’s 2025 season includes A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Once Upon a Mattress, 9 to 5, Legally Blonde and Something Rotten. Each production demands extensive collaboration from actors, directors, and other crew members, who work together to deliver a polished performance. But before opening night, the magic all starts with auditions.

“I Love singing and it’s a way for me to express myself through music and its such a big thing and such a big part of my life. It’s impacted me so heavily,” said Landon Brecheen, who is pursing a degree in Fine Arts.

RCT is one of the many organizations funded in part by the City through the Cultural Arts Commission’s Arts Grants Program.
