RICHARDSON – The Richardson Police Memorial has been installed along with a 20-foot-tall sculpture called “Radiant Shield,” representing the department’s three core principals, partnerships, performance and prevention.
The public art piece is located at the new Richardson Public Safety Campus, in front of Richardson Police Headquarters.
Radiant Shield is part of the City’s Public Art Master Plan.
“We hope that after these projects are dedicated that the community and various public safety departments can find a connection to these pieces,“ said public artist, Norman Lee with Re:Site Studios.
Designs for Radiant Shield and the other art installations on the campus were chosen by an artist selection committee made up of the police and fire chiefs and representatives from the Cultural Arts Commission, local arts community and citizen public safety volunteers.
