City Manager Don Magner presented the FY 2022-23 proposed budget at the City Council’s regularly scheduled work session Monday. The proposed budget totals $354,486,879, an increase of $23,698,460, or 7.2 percent over this year’s budget. It also includes a $0.05421 tax rate reduction, rolling the City’s tax rate back 17 years to levels last seen in 2006.

The Council will vote on the budget Aug. 29. Two public hearings will be available for community input—the hearings will be held in City Council Chambers beginning at 6 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tax rate hearing Aug. 22
  • Budget hearing Aug. 29

If adopted, the new budget would take effect beginning Oct. 1, 2022.
