The annual North Texas Food Bank Peanut Butter Drive began this week, with several locations in Richardson where peanut butter jars can be dropped off.
Locations include:
- City Hall and City Hall Annex, 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd., Suites 525 and 550, during regular business hours and all public events
- Heights Recreation Center, 711 W. Arapaho Rd. (Heights Recreation Center hours)
- Huffhines Recreation Center, 200 N. Plano Rd. (Huffhines Recreation Center hours)
- Network of Community Ministries, 1500 International Pkwy. Regular food donation hours are Tuesdays-Wednesday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursdays 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Richardson Public Library, 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd., Suite 500 (Library hours)
- Richardson Senior Center, 820 W. Arapaho Rd. (Senior Center hours)
The event is held every September in conjunction with Hunger Action Month and benefits local food banks in several North Texas cities.
Last year, 3,602 pounds of peanut butter were collected at City locations, more than any amount collected since Richardson began participating in 2019.
