The City’s annual summer day camp program is in full swing, with four divisions (Kinder Camp for ages 5-6, Elementary Camp for ages 7-11, Playground Camp for ages 7-11 and Teen Camp for ages 12-15). So far, more than 800 children and teens have enjoyed the camps, with more than 1,000 total expected by the time the camp season ends Aug. 9.
Campers enjoy science projects, games, arts and crafts, swimming and for those over age 6, field trips. This past week, Elementary campers ventured to the Dallas World Aquarium and Teen campers visited the Sixth Floor Museum. New this year is Kindness Day, where campers are encouraged to participate in random acts of kindness for fellow campers and to others in the community.
