Fans of pickleball, a hybrid of tennis, badminton and ping-pong that was dubbed “America’s fastest growing sport” this year by “The Economist,” now have more options of where to play in Richardson—select tennis courts at Woodland and Terrace parks were recently painted with pickleball lines.

One court at each park now doubles as a pickleball court; pickleball players must use the existing tennis net to play. The courts remain available for both sports, but tennis players are requested to keep the pickleball-lined court available if another tennis court is open.

Richardson Parks and Recreation also offers pickleball play indoors at Heights and Huffhines recreation centers during scheduled times.
