The Network of Community Ministries was the site of the City’s 2022 Spring Neighborhood Leadership Workshop held earlier this week. The biannual workshop, managed by the Community Services Division, provides networking opportunities for neighborhood and homeowner association leaders. Major City departments participate in an Exhibitor’s Row so attendees can obtain first-hand knowledge of important projects and initiatives happening in the community. Additionally, programming for the workshop includes a combination of presentations to help neighborhood leaders create stronger organizations and to provide them with the most current information about the City so that they can communicate that to their associations. At Tuesday’s event, volunteer leaders/board members from more than 20 HOAs heard from Richardson Police Department Volunteer Coordinator Meredith Watkins as well as Network CEO Cindy Shafer and enjoyed a tour of Network’s new facility.
Developing and maintaining relationships with the associations is essential to the goals of the City Council by ensuring Richardson explores unique initiatives to attract, engage and retain residents.
