Richardson will join cities and towns across Texas in observance of National Night Out (NNO) Tuesday, Oct. 5. The annual event (held in October in many southern states and in August in more summer-temperate climates) is designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to help in crime prevention and to enhance quality of life. This year, the Richardson Police Department has organized the event around a “Party at the Parks” theme, encouraging residents to join their neighbors at one of Richardson’s parks from 6-8 p.m. Police officers, City officials and special guests will visit the designated NNO park locations.

This is the 32nd year the City has participated in the event, earning first place nationwide last year in its population category (100,000-299,000 residents), based on events held and number of NNO participants.
