National Night Out (NNO) was held in Richardson this week with hundreds of neighbors gathering at events in local parks and neighborhood block parties.

There were 129 groups registered. Police officers, along with city and state leaders, Miss Texas Ellie Breaux, and Nat the Knight participated in several gatherings throughout the evening.

As part of NNO, police organized a “Can Do” food drive collecting thousands of pounds of shelf-stable food for the Network of Community Ministries.

This was the 34th year of NNO, which promotes police-community partnerships and strengthens neighborhood spirit.
