The Lunar New Year kicked off at the Richardson Core District at DFW Chinatown. It was filled with music, food, and performances from all around the community.
Hundreds of people gathered for the event, which also featured a Jiu Jitsu demonstration, and the popular Lion and Dragon dance, part of the tradition that honors the Year of the Rabbit.
The Lunar New Year is based off the Lunar Calendar and changes every year. Celebrations last for about two weeks.
