Richardson police and fire personnel are scheduled to take part in neighborhood July 4 celebrations this upcoming holiday. The decision to cancel Richardson’s annual Family Fourth Celebration in 2021 was caused by two factors: the timing of the planning calendar for a complex event when safety protocols still existed and budget limitations. The timing of the decision made it such that there was not a clear path for successfully moving forward in 2021 given these two factors.
