Last week, after fifty years Richardson’s centennial time capsule was carefully unearthed. Inside, remnants of 1973.
Items in the time capsule included artifacts significant to people of that time – from Sears catalogs, hair rollers and cassette tapes to brochures, menus from popular restaurants and even a disposable diaper.
Richardson librarians worked very carefully to preserve items including brushing off debris such as dust and rust.
Time capsule items will soon be on display at the Richardson Public Library alongside, Richardson’s Sesquicentennial time capsule that holds artifacts from 2023 to be unveiled in the year 2073.
