RICHARDSON – In the last few weeks, requests for Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC) has gone up due in part to the winter weather storm that hit North Texas last month.
In March of 2020, our Public Services department received 5,179 requests for service. So far this month, crews have received more than 7,547 requests. The delay has caused crews to work longer shifts and even weekends just to catch up.
Crews are asking residents for patience as they handle the record number of requests.
BABIC is a service provided by request to dispose of yard waste, unwanted furniture, and other large and bulky items that either cannot fit in your normal trash or should be recycled into mulch.
