Health Department staff have been busy this week getting ready for the department’s biggest annual event: Trash Bash, to be held Saturday, April 23. This year’s event offers families and groups the opportunity to plan their own clean-ups and pick up supplies in advance at City Hall. On the day of the event, there will also be several drive-thru activities held in the City Hall parking lot and at Richardson Square Mall.
The day’s schedule includes the following:
City Hall parking lot drive-thru—9 a.m.-1 p.m., 411 W. Arapaho Rd.
- Residential cooking oil/grease collection
- Book drive (books, CDs, DVDs)
- Free bag of Texas Pure compost or mulch
- Collection event for Network of Community Ministries
- Lion’s Club Eyeglasses Collection
Richardson Square Mall—10 a.m.-2 p.m., 501 S. Plano Rd.

- Electronics recycling
- Document shredding
Groups desiring to pick up trash may do so on any day of their choosing. The City will provide supplies, including trash bags, gloves and litter tongs. Register at the City’s Trash Bash website.
