Presented both in person and virtually at the SP/N Gallery (Closed Sundays and Mondays), 3020 Stewart Dr., Richardson, TX 75080 – Gallery Hours 
 
Admission is free and open to the public; complimentary masks will be provided. A free reception will be held at the gallery Sept. 12 from 2-6 p.m. 

 
“BRETTELL: An Artists’ Homage to the Dynamic Influence of Rick Brettell,” curated by Greg Metz, showcases the late Dr. Richard Brettell’s personal art acquisitions as well as an eclectic sampling of art works by some of the many artists who found their way into his personal sphere of influence and support. Brettell was the founding director of the Edith O’Donnell Institute of Art History at UT Dallas and the former Eugene McDermott Director at the Dallas Museum of Art.

The music of Cuba and Spain is featured in this concert by Cuban-born Izquierdo, a top player on the world stage and professor of classical guitar at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The 2021 edition of this annual community event features keynote speaker Robert E. Hall, author of the book, “This Land of Strangers: The Relationship Crisis That Imperils Home, Work, Politics and Faith.” The conference also includes several sessions facilitated by experts in the fields of education, the environment, business, health care, self-care, mindfulness training, the science of compassion, and many more.
