This week the Richardson Fire Department received a donation of 2,500 masks from DFW Care. The mix of N95 and surgical masks will be used by Fire Department personnel to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The donation was one of several the City has received over the past month
The city has received about 10,000 masks and more than 70 gallons of hand sanitizer from individuals and organizations. The items are being used by employees in multiple city departments including sanitation workers who are keeping hand sanitizer in their trucks, as well as police officers who have been given masks and gloves they can wear in the field when needed. Anyone interested in donating items they should contact the Fire Department at 972-744-5700 for masks and Purchasing at 972-744-4130 for hand sanitizer or other items.
