Thursday morning students, staff and faculty at the University of Texas at Dallas gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Celebration Breakfast is an annual event on campus filled with speakers and reflection. It is sponsored by the UT Dallas’ Multicultural Center, the Office of Diversity and Community Engagement and the Student Union and Activities Advisory Board.

“The importance of the breakfast is to learn about equality for all people, making sure we provide equal opportunity to people regardless of their circumstances. It’s also important for our students to learn about the history of this country,” said Raul Hinojosa, director of Community Engagement at the University of Texas at Dallas.

The MLK Celebration Breakfast is one of several events taking place this week at UT Dallas.
