City and community leaders gathered last Saturday for a ceremonial wall demolition at Richardson City Hall. The 85,727-square-foot building, built in the late 1970s and opened in 1980, was damaged by fire in 2022, and voters approved a new City Hall and City Hall campus in a 2023 bond election.
Construction on the new City Hall, which is planned to be located closer to Arapaho Road and east of the fountain plaza, is expected to begin later this year, with an expected completion sometime in early 2027.
