Students have a few more days to apply for the Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program, as the deadline to submit an application is March 17. Now in its fifth year, the program enables incoming high school seniors to gain real-world experience related to careers in which they’ve expressed an interest and allows employers to invest in Richardson’s future workforce and get to know some of the area’s most motivated young talent.
All students who qualify based on the initial application process receive free workforce readiness training, and those chosen for internships work at both paid and unpaid jobs between June 6-Aug. 5. Businesses may sponsor a student at their work site and/or sponsor a student to work at a local nonprofit (employers have until April 1 to apply).
