Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) recently announced the winners of its 2020 Student Art Contest, and three are students at RISD schools: Jude Morrison (2nd grade) of Spring Creek Elementary won Second Place in the K-2nd grade category, and Kelly Araujo (11th grade) and Lauren Buntenbah (10th grade) of Richardson High School won Second Place and Honorable Mention, respectively, in the 9th-12th grade category.
The theme for the contest this year was “Paint the Town ____” and students were asked to “fill in the blank” and interpret the theme using crayons, paint, markers, colored pencils and/or digital art. The students’ art will be displayed at the DART website, the Dallas Museum of Art, Love Field Airport and at select “DARTable” locations in the Metroplex.
