RICHARDSON – A DART Silver Line Betterments/Sound Wall sample arrived at Richardson City Hall and will be on display outside the west doors of the building through Jan. 29, 2021.

The sample is one of six that arrived in cities where the 26-mile Silver Line route will be built. The wall gives people an up-close look at the Durisol Absorptive Wall system that will be used on the track-side of the alignment and the Precast Concrete Reflective Wall that will be used on the neighborhood-side of the alignment.

“This is an opportunity to show off exactly what our residents will be seeing when it goes into service,” said Gordon Shattles, External Relations, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)

The betterments/sound wall color and finish for each neighborhood were voted on by residents and stakeholders through a robust and inclusive community engagement process.

The 15-foot-tall betterments/sound wall shown in the Richardson sample is planned for the south side of the rail line southeast of the intersection of Synergy Park Boulevard and West Renner Road.
