The City of Richardson has begun the process of updating its Cultural Arts Master Plan, which was last updated in April 2013.
The Cultural Arts Master Plan is a long-term planning document that helps guide the future growth and development of cultural arts in Richardson. The plan is created from findings from a broad and inclusive public engagement process. The goal is to create clear and obtainable goals and objectives to help the city grow and develop. Among the things that came out of the 2013 Master Plan was the creation of www.ArtsInRichardson.com and the adoption of the Public Art Master Plan.
The process of updating the plan will have five phases and is expected to take a year to complete. The City has hired BerryDunn to guide the process. The company will use a variety of methods to gather input including person on the street interviews, virtual and in-person focus groups, and online project hub, pop-up events and engagement stations where people can share their thoughts. To ensure all residents are given the opportunity to provide input, BerryDunn will establish a diverse and multilingual project team and engage residents in all phases of the process.
More information about the plan, including a schedule of public input opportunities once they are scheduled, can be found at www.cor.net/CulturalArtsMasterPlan.
