The Cottonwood Art Festival is taking place this weekend at Cottonwood Park in Richardson. It is the 50th year of the event and features more than 240 artists.
The artists were all chosen to exhibit their museum-quality work from approximately 1,400 submissions this year.
Kathleen Murphy Willer is a Wisconsin-based award-winning acrylic painter who was selected by the City of Richardson to be Cottonwood’s 2019 Spring Featured Artist.
“I’m hoping what the viewer draws from my work is joy and or bliss, and then also a feeling of simplicity,” she said.
The art festival has two stages filled with a long list of performers. There are plenty of drinks and a variety of food. Cottonwood also has a children’s area and is pet friendly.
Many people from all over North Texas and across the country are attending. Cottonwood takes place Saturday 10-7 p.m. and Sunday 10-5 p.m.
