Get ready to celebrate Richardson’s sesquicentennial at a free event hosted by the City on Saturday, June 24. The celebration will take place in Downtown Richardson at Main Street Plaza, 105 S. Interurban St., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. within the CORE District. Activities/entertainment will be plentiful, including two stages with live music; food vendors; and family-friendly games such as cornhole, lawn bowling, bucket ball, Tic-Tac-Toe, water games and more. Kids can also enjoy bounce houses and explore different City vehicles.

A time capsule that was buried outside the Library during the City’s 100th anniversary celebration in 1973 will be on display and a new one will be sealed.

Two parking lots near the Plaza will offer free parking; free remote parking will be available at the RISD Administration building with a shuttle bus providing free transportation to and from the event.
