City building officials have implemented programs designed to help Oct. 20 tornado victims. Special services being provided to impacted properties include: express construction permitting, waiving of building permit fees, waiving of fees for water reconnection, and extended inspection hours.

“In some situations, its been very emotional and devastating for some homeowners. We are helping as much as we can to help get residents back to their homes, and back to normal,” said Stephen Papania, building inspector.

To date, the City of Richardson has issued 290 building permits related to the tornado, including 173 for residential roof repair and 49 for residential fence repair.  Richardson Building Inspectors are expecting additional permit applications.
