The City Council will review possible changes to the North Glenville Drive reconstruction project after inflation impacts significantly altered expected work costs.
The $19.3M bond-funded project (including both 2015 and 2021 bond funds) recently went through the competitive bidding process, and the best proposal came in $4M over budget. A new, reworked funding plan shows how the basics of the project (paving, utilities, bike lanes, sidewalks and traffic signals) can still be completed within the original budget, with “add-back” options (such as landscaping) needing approved funding through other measures.
After Council input, the project’s scope and budget will be finalized, with the Council awarding the project bid in December and construction expected to begin in January.
