RICHARDSON – A groundbreaking ceremony was held this week for the new Belt + Main project, currently under construction along Belt Line and Main street in Richardson.

The project consists of mixed-use buildings that will be wrapped around a shared parking garage with open parking for the public, as well as private and reserved parking.

“It’s a big project. This will be one of the largest developments underway in north Texas,” said Paris Rutherford, Catalyst Urban Development.

The site will include 15,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, 350 residential units for lease and 7,000 square feet of resident amenity space that combines a rideshare waiting lobby, a resident entertainment lounge, a community kitchen, a large fitness and yoga studio, digital parcel/package lockers, as well as office and meeting space.

Some of the outdoor amenities include one of the largest pools in the City complete with private cabanas, a grilling pavilion and lavish outdoor furniture groupings within a landscaped courtyard.

“We really appreciate the effort of the city here. Without the city’s involvement or support, this wouldn’t be happening. These are very difficult projects to get done. We have old infrastructure that needs to be redone. Without the city’s support, this would not be as an exciting place as its going to be,” he said.
