Heavy rain and strong winds that recently hit North Texas have resulted in a large amount of storm-related debris in several neighborhoods in Richardson.
Crews with BABIC, the City’s Brush and Bulky Item Collection program are busy responding to calls for cleanup. On average workers respond to 600 calls a day, but after a big storm those calls increase to about 900 a day.
“We are into our heavy season. We’re anticipating an increase in service calls and so we’re going to work through those just as fast as we can and ask folks to be patient as we process those requests in the coming days,” said Travis Switzer, assistant director of Richardson Public Service.
If there is debris in the public right-of-way and residents would like to report it, please call 972-744-4111. Residents can also request a pick up online at www.cor.net/babic or by using the MyRichardson App on a smart phone. If there is a debris on personal property, residents are asked to place material on the curb for crews to pick up.
