Several nonprofits with close ties to the City of Richardson will participate in the annual North Texas Giving Day Sept. 21. The 18-hour “giving extravaganza” sponsored by the Communities Foundation of Texas raises money for North Texas nonprofits through an easy-to-navigate website (www.northtexasgivingday.org). Givers can donate to one or more of over 3,300 local organizations with one transaction.  

Participating organizations include: 

  • Friends of the Richardson Public Library, 
  • Richardson Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association, 
  • Richardson Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, 
  • Richardson Reads One Book Inc., 
  • Richardson Woman’s Club Charitable Foundation, Inc., 
  • Richardson Chamber of Commerce Foundation, 
  • The Eisemann Center Foundation, 

and many more, including several funded in part by the City’s Cultural Arts Commission. 

Those who wish to give may visit www.northtexasgivingday.org between 6 a.m. and midnight Sept. 21 or schedule their donation online in advance through midnight Sept. 20.
