All City departments have been activated to prepare for winter weather this Monday.

With temperatures and wind chills expected to drop into the low teens or single digits over the next several days, the lobby of the Richardson Police Department headquarters building (200 N. Greenville Ave.) and the lobbies of Fire Stations 3 (500 W Lookout Dr.) and 6 (3591 Park Vista Rd.) have been designated as warming centers for those needing shelter from the extreme winter weather. The warming centers are now open and will continue operation until they are no longer needed.

City officials are monitoring conditions and will provide an update Sunday evening related to any impacts to facility openings on Monday.
