Animal Shelter staff announced this week that 152 pets found their forever homes during the Clear the Shelters campaign in August and extended their gratitude to the adopters that made that possible. The annual nationwide event promotes pet adoption and raises funds for animal welfare, with NBC and Telemundo TV stations providing promotional support. Many shelters offered discounted adoptions—the Richardson Animal Shelter waived adoption fees.
The Shelter is still in need of adopters as it continues to be filled near capacity. Fostering shelter pets is also available.
