The North Texas Master Naturalists and Texas Conservation Alliance cleaned up the Canyon Creek Wetlands and Wildscape (behind the Hilton Garden Inn) last weekend. More than 50 volunteers, including scouts from Cub Scout Pack 893, planted 500 North Texas native pollinator plants, prairie grass seedlings and native trees. The Texas Master Naturalists will be back out at the site this Saturday from 8-10 a.m. for their monthly workday, where they will be planting the 200 remaining plants that did not get planted last weekend. Anyone interested in attending should bring a garden spade, gloves and sun and bug protection, as well as large plastic jugs (milk, tea etc.) filled with water for the newly planted plants.
