The closure of all nonessential City facilities has been extended through this Friday due to record-breaking electric demand and reduced power generation because of the extreme winter weather. City Hall will continue to open at 10 a.m. until further notice.

Oncor reports outages due to the electric emergency could last for hours. In addition, Oncor is responding to separate outages caused by the record-breaking winter storm that continues to impact the entire area. Oncor says it is doing everything possible to respond to each of the power emergency events.

The following facilities are closed through Friday:

• Animal Shelter
• Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations
• Gymnastics Center
• Heights and Huffhines Recreation Centers
• Municipal Court
• Public Library
• Sherrill Park Golf Course
• Tennis Center

We will provide additional information about facility openings as soon as possible.
