At Monday’s City Council meeting, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) presented the City of Richardson with a glass water drop sculpture to commemorate its 75th anniversary. The water drop shape is a reminder of the resource that brought NTMWD and the City together and the shared responsibility to protect it for future generations.
The City began its partnership with NTMWD as a water customer in 1965 before becoming the district’s 11th member city in 1973. Since then, the City and the District have continued to grow in both population and services. Today, NTMWD serves nearly 120,000 Richardson residents with water, wastewater and solid waste services.
