RICHARDSON – Almost exactly one year ago, Childress Engineering Services announced the relocation and expansion of its global headquarters from the Richardson Innovation Quarter to an office building adjacent to the Galatyn Commons corporate office park.

Childress specializes in architectural design and engineering services and is one of North Texas’ fastest-growing companies.

“We are a multifaceted group. We have one group that focuses on what we call low-rise, three stories, two stories, one story, concrete, wood, concrete-block – so we do a lot of homes. Both costume homes, production homes, multimillion dollar homes, and also we do commercial buildings. We don’t do bridges, we don’t do dams and we don’t do roads. Everything else we do,” said owner and President, Tony Childress.

The company was attracted to Richardson for the City’s strong economy, recreational amenities and annual events such as Wildflower and Cottonwood Art Festival. Childress is also a regular participant in the Richardson Corporate Challenge, an opportunity they say not only strengthens team spirit, but allows them to give back to the community.
