CARES Applications Open Monday  

The application period for the 2026 Citizens Academy and Resource Education Series (Richardson CARES) opens Monday, July 13 and runs through Friday, July 31. The free, eight-week series is offered to adults ages 18 and up and provides participants the opportunity to meet City staff, learn about the day-to-day operations of Richardson’s municipal government.

Recycling Delayed in Some Neighborhoods in Richardson Panhandle 

Recycling collection will not be completed today in some neighborhoods in the Richardson panhandle. Crews will complete as much as possible before sunset today, but they will not be able to complete collections along their entire routes. They will start again tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. to complete collections before the end of the day tomorrow.

Safer Streets Survey Closes Wednesday 

Richardson’s Transportation and Mobility Department is seeking community input on the overall direction of its draft Safety Action Plan, which is designed to help create a safer mobility system for all. The draft was created following the proposed recommendations that came from community feedback gathered last year.

The Custer Parkway Reconstruction Project has reached another milestone with completion of the new northbound lanes between Campbell Road and the railroad tracks just north of Cap Rock Drive. On Thursday, traffic shifted into a new configuration.
