Cottonwood Park is officially open, days after a severe storm hit the Richardson community causing downed trees and damage to property.

The park was closed temporarily as City crews worked hard to clear debris. The Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground and the pool at Cottonwood are open.

“We brought crews in on Sunday and worked them through the night and worked pretty much 18-20 hour shifts just to get limbs down, get brush cleared just to get the park back open so, folks can come back out and enjoy it,” said Dan Baker, assistant director, parks and planning, City of Richardson’s Parks & Recreation Department.

The only section of the park that will remain closed is on the south side from the basketball court to Dumont St., including the south bridge.
