As is the annual custom among residents, Halloween (this year on Tuesday, Oct. 31) will be the day for neighborhood trick-or-treating in Richardson. While the City does not set any official hours for trick-or-treating activities (and does not reschedule due to weather), the public is reminded to be extra cautious when driving at dusk and after dark. Here are a few tips from the National Safety Council:

  • Watch for children darting out from between parked cars
  • Watch for children walking on roadways, medians and curbs
  • Enter and exit driveways and alleys carefully
  • Be alert that some children are dressed in dark clothing
