Santa’s Village Begins Set-Up

Work began this week to prepare Huffhines Park for Santa’s Village, the City’s miniature holiday town. It may seem early, but in order to be ready in time for December visitors, set-up begins immediately following Huffhines Harvest Fest. The Village relocated to Huffhines Park last year due to the August 2022 fire at City Hall, which caused City Hall and its grounds to be closed until new construction is complete.

It will take about two weeks, weather permitting, to get the Santa’s Village buildings assembled and in place at the park and another few weeks to decorate.

Santa’s Village has been held in Richardson for more than 30 years and includes children’s activities inside each tiny structure, live entertainment on a central stage and the opportunity to visit with Santa Claus. This year’s event takes place Dec. 2-3, Dec. 8-10, and Dec. 15-17, with no resident-only nights. On days when the buildings aren’t open, the Village will be open for people to stroll through and take photos through Dec. 25.
