Richardson ISD will be hosting its annual Backpack Bash July 29 and Aug. 5 and are accepting both financial and in-kind donations to help support the event, which gives families the opportunity to receive backpacks, school supply kits, hygiene kits and more in a safe environment. It also connects RISD families to enrollment support and other resources in a festive back-to-school fair atmosphere. More than 5,000 backpacks and school supply kits were distributed to families at last year’s Backpack Bash. This year, the district hopes to give out 7,500 backpacks.
