Art historian Erika Doss presents, “Looking at Gift Horses: Ivan Mestrovic, Hans Haacke, and Public Art in Chicago, 1928-2018,” which focuses on two examples of public art gifted to the City of Chicago. Exploring the origins, motivation and reception of both projects, this talk looks at the intersections between art, money, politics and public interests over time.
