The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) announced this week that critical maintenance has been completed at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant Complex (part of Richardson’s water system) and that it has resumed normal operations. In a press release, NTMWD noted that all state and federal drinking water quality standards were met or exceeded during the maintenance and that through the success of public efforts to reduce outdoor watering, the NTMWD continued to meet demands while treatment capacity was temporarily reduced.
While thanking the public for its efforts, NTMWD urged ongoing water conservation as drought conditions and rising demands for water persist.
