City staff reviewed the candidate projects that have been identified for a possible 2021 Bond Program at Monday’s City Council work session, providing further refinements and information for the Council. The $190 million, no-tax rate-increase model bond program includes a variety of projects divided among five areas, or propositions (Streets, Public Buildings, Sidewalks, Drainage and Parks), with high priority given to street, alley and sidewalk improvements ($110 million) and public building renovations ($64 million). The Public Buildings Proposition proposes renovations to the Library, City Hall, Animal Shelter and Fire Station 5; Streets Proposition projects include:
- alleys and streets deemed “poor” plus Glenville Drive and McKinney Street improvements,
- Campbell/Jupiter intersection and Campbell/University intersection improvements,
- four new traffic signals and 15 traffic signal replacements, and
the Sidewalks Proposition includes sidewalk improvements for three commercial areas and two residential areas.
