The City Council approved Richardson’s FY 2021-22 budget Monday night, which included a $0.01 decrease in the City’s property tax rate and increased funding for street, sidewalk, alley and other infrastructure projects. The newly adopted budget also includes a 2.5 percent increase for water and sewer services.
Other highlights of the 2021-22 budget, which goes into effect Oct. 1, include:
- Senior tax exemption maintained at $100,000;
- No solid waste rate increase for residents; market-driven solid waste rate increase for commercial properties; and
- Funding to reactivate community events as appropriate based on regional health, safety and economic conditions.
