Designs will be showcased at five intersections throughout the community.
(Richardson, TX) – Five pieces of art were selected as the winning works in the third annual Traffic Signal Box Art Contest. The winning artists were recognized at the May 13 City Council meeting.
The Traffic Signal Box Art Contest was launched in 2022 to beautify local intersections using art reflective of the community. The contest is sponsored by the Richardson Rotary Club. This year’s theme was “technology and education.” Winners were determined according to three main criteria – creativity, adherence to the theme, and artistic merit.
This year’s winners are:

- Eli Worley
- Caroline Duggan
- Tezra Fabian
- Rita Yeung
Vinyl wraps featuring the winning artwork will be installed at the following intersections beginning later this month:
- Alma Road and East Collins Boulevard
- Brand Road and East Renner Road
- Melrose Drive and Mimosa Drive
- Rutford Avenue and Synergy Park Boulevard
- East Spring Valley Road and South St. Johns Drive
In addition to their artwork being showcased in the community, artists with winning entries will also receive $200, a plaque, and have their work published in the June Richardson Today and other municipal communication channels.
